For our last dinner in Whistler before we caught the bus we stopped in for a quick bite at Splitz Grill. Our Airbnb host recommended this place and it was close to our bus stop which was convenient.
It was air conditioned (yay) and had a nice indoor and outdoor seating area.
We both built our own burgers with a gluten free bun, regular beef patty (which we checked to confirm was gluten free) and then you can add all the dressings and toppings you would like. I went pretty traditional while GL added pretty much every topping available. We made each a meal with fries and a fountain pop.
The burgers and fries took about 20 minutes which was longer than I expected, but we were happy to wait for freshly made burgers. They came out in pretty casual plastic baskets one would expect from a place like this.
The fries were crispy and had the perfect amount of salt. They were slightly thicker cut which I always love. Great fries but more than I could eat! GL happily devoured his and my leftovers.
The buns were pretty standard gluten free buns which held together well and hit the spot. GL said he prefers a chewier bun but I thought it was good and on par with other gluten free buns I’ve had in the past.
The burgers were hot and delicious. They were not greasy at all, which we were impressed by. Great taste and we loved being able to customize all the dressings and toppings.
GL said a couple of his toppings were an odd pairing like the carrots, so maybe he wouldn’t get those in the future. But again, everything can be customized to your preference which is great. And sometimes when you’re having a burger you wish there were some more veggies, so this worked well!
Overall, great fresh burgers and good service with awesome music at Splitz Grill. It wasn’t too busy when we visited but I can see this being a popular spot in winter after people get off the slopes.
