Gluten Free Pizza and Games at Pizzeria Ludica

After a long work week Gluten Lips and I found ourselves simultaneously starving and exhausted and decided to head out for dinner on a Friday night. Gluten lips had pizza on the brain, but I haven’t been able to find gluten and dairy free pizza for years, so I didn’t think we could find a place. After a quick google search, not only did we find a place that would meet my dietary restrictions, it was also super close-by – only a 5 minute walk away!

We called in advance to see if we would need a reservation but they said walking in would be fine.

We rolled up to Pizzeria Ludica and it was super cute. I have passed it before but never thought much of it. They have hundreds of games you can play which is a big draw. Almost every table had a few stacks of games they had or were playing. We decided to order first and then take a look at the options. Neither of us are big game people but there was a huge bookshelf in front of us so why not!

I went with the B.A.T. with gluten free crust for an extra $5 and dairy free cheese for an extra $1. Gluten Lips ordered Carcassonne and we split a starter arugula salad. We also decided to try their Italian sodas. The food was fast and we received our salad and drinks after a few minutes.

The salad was very basic. It was supposed to come with cheese but I asked for that on the side. It was a nice salad but seemed a bit overpriced for what you got.

The Italian sodas were interesting. Gluten Lips had the lavender which tasted a bit like eating a flower. I had the blackberry which was nice. In both cases I found them overly sweet. I’m not sure I would have them again. I’ve never really tried Italian soda before so I think this is just how the drink is, and  it’s just not for me. It’s such a simple recipe that I’m sure the restaurant didn’t mess it up.

Our pizzas came shortly after. They are meant to be personal sized and had 8 slices each. They have additional dressings like cheese and chilli oil on the side you can add if you like too. I went with some chilli oil though I found it made my pizza too soggy. My pizza was really tasty and was really nice to bite into a slice again.

GL loved his pizza (naturally) and ate almost the whole thing. I saved a couple slices for tomorrow. They had these cute mini pizza boxes we could box our leftovers in.
