For dinner in Sayulita we had trouble finding a place that interested us and wasn’t located on a main street with cars driving past the patio tables every 30 seconds. We landed on Barracuda Sayulita which is a chain we’ve seen in Puerto Vallarta as well. It fronted onto a street that was closed down with a live band playing which was awesome.
We got started with a couple drinks which were boozy and strong. Mine had mezcal which I’m learning isn’t my favorite booze as it’s a bit too smokey for me.
For a starter we had the ceviche. Beautiful presentation and fresh flavours.
For the main, we split the raw tuna tataki. I wish there was more that came with it as it really wasn’t filling enough on it’s own. Also the tuna was cut quite thick and it was a bit fishy which is generally a sign of not the freshest or best prepared raw tuna. We ate it and enjoyed it but the tuna wasn’t a 10/10. We also had the catch of the day (snapper) which had an interesting mole sauce. I’m not a huge fan of the mole flavor so this wasn’t my favorite dish.
Overall, Barracuda Sayulita was a nice enough restaurant though there was nothing on the menu that would bring me back a second time.
